Blankenship Matthew 6:5-15 We all know we should pray more & longer... But how? and why? The WHY is because: James 5:16 Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. The HOW is the Our Father Prayer Pattern! Imagine a marriage without communication. Prayer is communication with God! IT IS CRUCIAL WE UNDERSTAND OUR NEED TO PRAY... IT IS THE MEASURE OF OUR RELATIONSHIP TO GOD! Our Instruction: Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; This prayer pattern is to be prayed DAILY! At each step through the pattern, there are verses to quote... This will help you be cleansed by the word. Ephesians 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, WE SHOULD ALL DESIRE A PRAYER RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD LIKE MOSES. Deuteronomy 34:10 And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, REMEMBER: Most people problems are misunderstandings. Most spiritual problems are lack of prayer. A) OUR FATHER WHICH ART IN HEAVEN Always begin by praise & worship! *** Praise is telling God how much you think he is worth*** Get lost in worship... Lift God up, he will lift you up. Verses to consider: Psalms 68:5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, [is] God in his holy habitation. Isaiah 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou [art] our father; we [are] the clay, and thou our potter; and we all [are] the work of thy hand. PRAYER PATTERN PAGE TWO Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Ephesians 4:6 One God and Father of all, who [is] above all, and through all, and in you all. UNDERSTAND HE IS YOUR FATHER.... YOUR ARE A CHILD OF GOD! Romans 8:14-17 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and jointheirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified together. Romans 9:26 And it shall come to pass, [that] in the place where it was said unto them, Ye [are] not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God. I John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. B) HOLLOWED BE THY NAME Praise his Name! * This establishes his authority. Philippians 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth; And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Psalms 20:7 Some [trust] in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. Psalms 96:2 Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day. Psalms 103:1 { [A Psalm] of David.} Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, [bless] his holy name. Psalms 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, [and] into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, [and] bless his name. Psalms 113:1-3 Praise ye the LORD. PRAYER PATTERN PAGE THREE Proverbs 18:10 The name of the LORD [is] a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. PRAISE GOD BASED ON THE DEPTH OF HIS HEBREW NAMES: NAME: MEANING: Jehovah-Tsidkenu God our Righteousness Jehovah-M'Kaddesh God who Sanctifies Jehovah-Shalom God is our Peace Jehovah-Shammah God is There Jehovah-Rophe God who Heals Jehovah-Jireh God who Supplies Jehovah-Nissi God is my Banner Jehovah-Rohi God is my Shepherd C) THY KINGDOM COME Begin to bind & lose & intercede for: 1. Your church 5. Your district 2. Your Pastor and his family 6. Our County 3. Church family by name 7. Missionaries (see list) 4. Our city & metro area 8. Souls you contact Matthew 9:38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. IF WE ARE GOING TO CHANGE PEOPLE... WE MUST CONQUER SPIRITS D) THY WILL BE DONE 1. In your life 3. In your family & friends 2. In your church Psalms 143:10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou [art] my God: thy spirit [is] good; lead me into the land of uprightness. Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. Ephesians 6:6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; I John 3:22-23 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. PRAYER PATTERN PAGE FOUR E) GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD WE HAVE THE RIGHT OF PRAYER AS CHILDREN OF THE KING! This is where you bring your needs to God. (PETITION) PRAY CONCISELY! Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. PRAY FOR BETTER JOBS, RAISES, NEEDS TO BE MET. (BE SPECIFIC) GOD IS WILLING TO BLESS HIS PEOPLE: Matthew 14:20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. F) FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS (as we) FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS 1. Ask God to forgive you 2. Forgive and release others 3. Set your will to forgive others who sin against you Matthew 6:14-15 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Mark 11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. Matthew 18:35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses. We must pray this daily so as not to walk in condemnation Romans 8:1 [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. G) LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION 1. pray for you personal weaknesses (fighting the flesh) asking God to keep you in his arms of grace. James 1:3 Knowing [this], that the trying of your faith worketh patience. I Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it]. PRAYER PATTERN PAGE FIVE H) DELIVER US FROM EVIL **** The time to decide your response to temptation is not while your in it. **** REHEARSE IN PRAYER YOUR RESPONSE AHEAD OF TIME! Put on the whole armor of God: STUDY EPH 6:13-18 John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. II Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord [is], there [is] liberty. Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. I) FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM & THE POWER & THE GLORY FOREVER! 1. Make your declarations of FAITH 2. You started in Praise..... Now you end with praise! Isaiah 9:7 Of the increase of [his] government and peace [there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. Luke 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. NOW CONCLUDE BY ASKING GOD TO RELEASE SOULS FROM THE NORTH SOUTH, EAST & WEST INTO THE CHURCH FOR SALVATION! This is scriptural! He will do it! Isaiah 43:4-6 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life. Fear not: for I [am] with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west; I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth; FINALLY! Sing unto the Lord with the voice of triumph! Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. WE ARE NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING... UNTIL WE ARE WILLING TO PRAY!! |
