Why Didn’t Someone Tell Me

WHY DIDN’T SOMEONE TELL ME?
AUTHOR UNKNOWN

Why didn’t someone tell me? Why didn’t you warn me, if you knew hell was a real place and that judgment day was surely coming?

Oh! Why, Why? I might have escaped the damnation of hell. If you only would have warned me!

Yes, I could have rejected you at first in my ignorance, but if you would have been persistent in your love for my soul, my eyes, that were blinded, might have been opened to the truth and the awful need of my soul’s salvation.

If you knew about the soon coming doom and that great gruesome day of reckoning for every sinner, why were you so slow to warn me to repent? Why you seemed to be so indifferent toward my lost condition? Oh! Why! Why!

If you really believed there was heaven to gain and hell to shun for every soul that ever lived on the face of this earth, including mine, why didn’t you put it down strong enough to me to count the cost to be lost? Why didn’t you put it down in black arid white so I could see from God’s eternal Word where my miserable life would lead me to?

Why didn’t you tell me before it was eternally too late? Why? Oh, where will I spend eternity? How can I endure agonies of torment of hellfire and brimstone? How can I endure all this, being separated from God forever without the slightest hope of ever having a chance for reconciliation. All hope of repentance gone forever, gone in the way of no return! It’s too late now, eternally too late!

This will be the accusation for many on that day. Many shall rise up in judgment with a finger of accusation against so-called Christians.

Sinner friend, backslider, lukewarm Christian, ponder the words of this warning. Take them to your heart with deadly seriousness. Repent! Get right with God! Call upon His name while He hears, seek Him while He is near! The day is coming when they shall seek Him early, but will not find Him. They will call, but He will not answer (Proverbs 1:28).

“When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die, and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at thine hand” (Ezekiel 3:18).

A VISION OF HELL

The vision of a real Bible hell that follows is a stirring experience to saints and to help sinners to seek God and His saving grace before it’s eternally too late.

On the night of November 20 some years ago, after having been near death for three days, I was permitted to see a few of the many awful horrors of hell. Oh, hell is a fearful place.

It seemed I was going down a steep hill and my guide said, “Look.” As I looked. oh, horror of horrors, there was an ocean of fire with many people in it, a few of whom I knew, As far as I could see there were fire and people. The fire I have been accustomed to seeing, doesn’t look horrible or as hot as that awful fire did. It was so hot there was a vapor looking a little like steam, everywhere. Oh. the misery and suffering. Words utterly fail- me to give an idea of what I saw and heard.

Some of the people were crying, some groaning the most pitiful groans, and begging for water! Water! Some were pulling their hair; some gnashing with their teeth; some biting their hands and arms. Such a sight is impossible for me to describe. One I knew was a young man, formerly a schoolmate of mine. His mother was my Sunday school teacher and we all thought her to be a Christian. He raised up and said, “Mamma is here too.” At this time I did not know that either this boy or his mother were dead, but I have, since learned that they had been killed in an automobile accident. There were others I knew who had died as they had lived-in deep sin. There was a woman who cursed, and when she saw it did no good she groaned and said, “That used to ease my temper, but it doesn’t anymore.”

Another standing near said, ‘Well, we had our own choice.”

But she answered, “NO, WE DIDN’T. THE PREACHERS DIDN’T TELL US HOW AWFUL HELL IS. THEY TOLD US HOW JOYFUL HEAVEN IS, BUT I THOUGHT I WAS HAVING JOY ENOUGH ON EARTH. IF THEY HAD TOLD ME ABOUT HELL. I MIGHT NOT HAVE COME HERE.”

Another picked up fire with her hands and filled her mouth with it, and groaned and blew fire from her mouth for four or five feet, and it came close enough to me for me to feel the heat of it. Then she cried, ‘Water! water!,” but none was given her.

Then my guide asked, “Do you want to go on?”

I said, “No, I want to go back. I want to never see this awful place of torment again.” it makes me shudder now to think of that awful place of misery and suffering called hell. No one can possibly imagine how awful hell is.

“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold” (Matthew 24:12).

We live in the last days. Sin abounds and Satan is on the rampage, knowing he has a short time. As a result, many have lost their vision and many have lost their first love. This is a terrible and sad fact
today, right in the face of all strong evidence of the soon coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Why was the precious blood of Jesus shed on the Cross of Calvary? Why? Tell them.
