“We write to know ourselves, we write to know each other and we write to know God.” Author Michele Cushatt

It is essential that as Christian mothers, we take the time to blog. In doing so, we love, take and give back. We worship, connect and most importantly, we obey our great God. By following the guideposts below, you will be well on your way to a new understanding of just how wonderful this journey is, as a writer and explorer and entrepreneur. You will sweetly reap what you sow and your heart and soul will be touched in ways that can only be imagined. You will be given the ability to unleash your inner super powers; powers that Jesus provides and entrusts to those who will say, “Yes Lord…I will!”

1) Blog to Promote God and Jesus

We have an evangelical duty to share our lives and our story with others. Our testimony is a huge asset in teaching and promoting God’s story. His invitation to salvation can best be received and understood by sharing your own journey and the details of how an intimate relationship with Jesus happened for you. How he has touched, healed and turned your life around from the lowest of lows to the highest of highs. To a place of internal peace and serenity, all souls long to find.

2) Blog to Connect, Love and Encourage others

As mothers, we are natural connectors and we long to share a piece of ourselves with another person. We need to know that what we are facing may be very difficult but there is someone else out there who has been through it and can advise and guide us through. God says, “Therefore confess your sins to each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16) You never know when you might have something to say or share that will encourage another woman who may be at her wits end. “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

3) Blog to Embrace Humility and Practice Forgiveness

“Humble yourselves, therefore under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. ” (1 Peter 5:6) We are called to be humble and often times it is truly humbling to share things about our lives, our intimate, and private behind the doors and gates lives. But, people, God cannot forgive us until we humbly step out in faith and share what is really going on in our homes and lives. He sends these lessons for a reason. When we are willing to share our mess with others, it is then and only then that we can truly be healed and forgiven. When we practice forgiving our children and whomever, we show and model Christianity and leadership.

4) Blog to Practice Obedience

It is essential that we get vulnerable and share things that God is calling us to share. By trusting and being obedient, God turns on your superpowers and turns your mistakes and life’s trials into opportunities. He allows you to be a hero, as you let conviction in your heart and gut motivate and guide you.

5) Blog to Be Transparent and Raw

Once you are courageous and brave enough to jump off the transparency cliff for God, you must know that with that kind of trust and surrender, you are given a gift that is of no comparison to that which you gave. When you open up your life for him, the gift you are given back has no boundaries. His blessings will chase you down. You have a voice and need to own it. You have a unique perspective and are credible and need to be heard!

6) Blog to create an online Small Group

We need a place to know others and to be known. It is a deep need that has been placed in our hearts by God himself. He also has placed a need in our heart to know and be known by him. As his dear children, we need places to connect with other women and help each other on the journey. In person small groups are something many of us have experienced and hopefully received much from. A blog is an online version of the same idea and has just as many powerful benefits. We are online therapy for one another and heal, grow and thrive together.

Conclusion

In conclusion, there is nothing greater than or more important than, mothers looking out for each other and themselves. It is survival when you choose to bring children into the world and as Christians; we are conquering demons on a daily basis. It is not hard to imagine how many trials and issues are born daily due to the complex mixture of these two elements. We are pillars of the community, often under the pressure of unrealistic demands and expectations.

The responsibility on our shoulders is nothing short of monumental. We must find love and a judgment free environment, in our time of need. We are called to share what we know and have learned through trial and error. Motherhood was not given to us so that our lives would be easy. Motherhood is a gift that grows us, where we learn as much as we teach. It is a way we get to know God and our great need for his son Jesus Christ.
