Divine Flesh? Not In The Bible!
Kifle Kassa

Dear Brethren,

The revival of the true Doctrine of Jesus Christ taught by the UPCI continues to prevail in Ethiopia. To God be the Glory. Thank you for your burden and many
prayers. God is faithful. This compelling study in the Word of God has been used of God to instruct and prevent many from the “heavenly-flesh” heresy. Please continue to forward it to our UPCI Brethren around the world expediently so all can be warned and armed in the Word. God bless. Rev. Kifle Kassa. Ethiopains4upci@gmail.com

“HEAVENLY-FLESH”?… Not in the Bible!!!

Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same … 17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. 1 Corinthians 15:39 …but there is one kind of flesh of men…

INTRODUCTION

The Apostle’s doctrine emphatically teaches the full deity and the genuine, sinless humanity of Jesus Christ. In contrast, the “Divine-Flesh” or “Heavenly-Flesh” heresy (also known as Monophysitism and Eutychianism in the historical literature has been soundly rejected as un-Biblical since the 4th Century A.D.), teaches that Jesus’ humanity is different than that of ours and that the flesh of Jesus is special or heavenly. But the Word teaches that “…there is one kind of flesh of men…

”1 Corinthians 15:39 and that ‘forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also himself likewise took part of the same … 17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren…Heb. 2:14,17.

“Divine-Flesh” heresy also teaches that Jesus is not a true physical descendent or seed of Abraham, of David and of the virgin Mary but rather that He has no biological connection or kin to humanity other than being carried in the womb of Mary, who supposedly did not contribute of her seed in His conception.

Some even teach that if you do not believe in “Divine-flesh” you are believing in a sin tarnished Jesus and you must be rebaptized after converting to this doctrine in order to be saved.

One of the reasons that those who hold the Divine-Flesh teaching contend that the conception of Jesus could not have involved Mary’s seed is because that Mary along with all humanity is tarnished by Adamic sin. The simple answer to that fear is that the Holy Word and Spirit that overshadowed the seed of the virgin mother in the conception of Jesus sanctified and cleansed the seed of the woman in the same way that the touch of God had always sanctified and healed whatever it touches. And thus, Christ is called by the Word of God “…that holy thing which shall be born of thee…” (Luke 1:35) .

Galatians 4:4 states…when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law…

The following scriptures from Genesis to Revelation establish without a shadow of a doubt that Jesus, as to His humanity is the prophesied Son-of-man-Messiah who is the Son (descendant or seed) of Abraham, of David and of the virgin mother Mary, and that He was manifested in fully-human flesh and blood just as us, with the only exceptions to His human experience being that:

(1) He was conceived of the Holy Ghost (Luke 1:30-35, Matthew 1:20) and
(2) that He is perfectly holy and righteous (Hebrews 4:15, 7:26).

You would find that the following scriptures connect to each other in prophetic fulfillment to establish Jesus’ genuine humanity and prove His biological connection to humanity, to Israel, to the tribe of Judah, to Abraham, to David and to the virgin mother irrefutably. May God bless this study by His presence.

Acts 2:29-30 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. 30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

Acts 13:22-23 … I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will. 23 Of this man’s seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus.

CHRIST, TO SUFFER ALL HUMAN TEMPTATION AND INFIRMITY!

Fulfillment of Isaiah 53:2-5 “…a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief…” 2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Hebrews 5:7-8 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

Hebrews 2:17-18 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

CHRIST, MADE FLESH AND BLOOD LIKE UNTO US!

Hebrews 2:14-17 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Revelation 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
