FRIENDS OF THE BRIDE

PURPOSE: An Introduction for prospects who need a friend or personal contact, to bridge their journey from the world to the establishing of a solid Christian.

Those who will be leaders will be called FRIENDS.

The duties of a FRIEND will be as follows:

1. A FRIEND will be assigned to various families or individuals with whom he is to keep in touch and encourage.

2. Those assigned to the FRIEND are not to be aware that this is an organized effort.

The responsibilities of a FRIEND include such duties as:

A. Telephone calls.

B. Meetings for coffee.

C. Personal visits.

D. Involving them with others in the church.

(Especially seeing that others in the church are nice to them.)

No Financial assistance can be offered or given (as there are too many in need.)

THIS IS A SPIRITUAL ENDEAVOR ONLY. Neither may FRIENDS make requests to the church for financial assistance.

*NOTE: If no Outreach Director, move Co-ordinator up and designate him as second person.

After a period of time, Friends are released from their organized obligation. The time of release is to be decided at the Meetings.

It is suggested that meetings be held at a restaurant; or a place where at least a beverage can be served, as the meeting’s importance must be realized.

Naaman, in the Old Testament, almost lost his chance for the cleansing of his leprosy; for he expected the prophet to formally utter a dignified proclamation over him, rather than issue a terse command to dip himself in the muddy river.

So . . . if you are looking for something with complicated, intricate detail, “FRIENDS OF THE BRIDE” is not the booklet or program for you. But if you are in need (as most of us are) of cultivating out visitors and converts and seeing a steady growth – this works!
