GENERAL INFORMATION

Truth Tabernacle Christian School was born in the hearts of Pastor Vaughn Morton and the saints of Truth Tabernacle with the primary objective and purpose of training students in the knowledge of God, the Christian way of life and to give the student an excellent education.

Our teachers realize that their responsibility at Truth Tabernacle Christian School is to mold lives and character and that they are personally responsible for each student receiving a good foundation for the life that lies ahead, spiritually and academically.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION

Truth Tabernacle Christian School is a part of the educational program and operates under the authority and direction of the Truth Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church of Fresno, California. It is a non-profit organization, financed by tuition of the students, plus gifts from friends. All contributions are tax deductible.

TRUTH TABERNACLE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

We will be offering a complete, integrated educational program from Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten through the 12th grade. We offer high quality Christian training but our program is not designed to be a correctional institution for problems arising beyond those usually encountered in average school children.

Some children do not adjust to a disciplined academic environment and find excuses to criticize the policies and decisions of the staff and administration.

In such cases the administration has the right to dismiss any student who does not cooperate with the total educational process.

Our curriculum will be A Beka Book Publications, a traditional curriculum for the Kindergarten through 6th grade, and the Alpha Omega Publications with Lifepacs and traditional curriculum for the 7th through 12th grade.

The school is designed to assist the student to grow spiritually, morally, physically and academically.

CHARGES

The enrollment and tuition fees will be announced each year by April 30.

ADDITIONAL FEES for art, music, labs, and electives will be announced at that date also.

A 5% DISCOUNT will be given to all those paying in advance (tuition fee only) for the complete year, if paid on or before August 1.

The First Tuition Payment must be paid in advance by September 1 or the class space being held will be given to another student already on the waiting list.

Students attending one day or more of any period will owe the full period’s tuition. It is our policy to charge $5.00 for all checks returned to us by your bank for any reason.

No student will be permitted to graduate until all tuition and fees are paid up-to-date.

POLICY

For all students (grades K-12) the first payment is due on September 1, and is neither NON-REFUNDABLE nor TRANSFERABLE, should the student cancel for any reason.

RE-ENROLLMENT

During the month of February, re-enrollments for the fall term for present students are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Enrollment is open to the public beginning March 1. Truth Tabernacle Christian School admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.

OPEN HOUSE AND ORIENTATION DAY

All students in attendance on this day will be expected to comply with the regular school dress and hair standards. On this day all students accompanied by parents, will attend class for one hour.

Important classroom information will be given. It is also a “get-acquainted” time for students and teachers. Birth certificates will be checked by Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and First grade teachers on Orientation Day.

It is vital that each student be represented at this time. For those who miss this meeting, there will be a late orientation fee of $5.00 per student added to your account in September. Late orientation may be completed by appointment only.

All Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and First grade students entering Truth Tabernacle Christian School for the first time must be immunized before admission to class. This should be taken care of through your physician or local health department.

NO CHILD MAY BE ADMITTED TO THE CLASS UNTIL THIS IS COMPLETED AS REQUIRED BY LAW.

FIRST FULL DAY OF SCHOOL

It is best for parents to leave the child with the teacher on the first full day of school. It is also to the child’s advantage for mothers not to wait on the playground with the children before the
opening of school each morning. Parents are asked not to bring the children to their room in the mornings or to wait in the hallway for their children before school is dismissed. Children will be brought to the car-loading area at dismissal time. Your full cooperation will be appreciated for the safety of all students.

LUNCH

Hot lunches will not be available at Truth Tabernacle Christian School. Your child should bring a good wholesome lunch each day. Milk or juice will be sold to those wishing to purchase some at lunch time. Soft drinks (for 7th through 12th graders only) will be available from a vending machine at lunch time.

Milk, juice and soft drinks will be available at cost.

GENERAL POLICIES

VISITORS

Parents are requested to stop by the office if they need to leave something for the student or teacher or if they have to pick up the student.

PLEASE DO NOT GO DIRECTLY TO THE CLASSROOM, AS THIS WOULD INTERRUPT
THE TEACHING.

TELEPHONE

Please do not telephone the students or the students’ teachers during regular school hours unless absolutely necessary. You may leave any messages with the office.

NOTES

When a parent sends a note with the younger child, it should be pinned to the child’s clothes. If a note is enclosed with snack money, “Note enclosed” should be written on the outside of the envelope.

ADDRESS OR PHONE NUMBER CHANGE

Any time an address or phone number (home or work) is changed, please notify the school office about it.

RESTRICTION ON CHILD PICK UP

If parents are divorced or separated and one parent is not allowed to see or pick up the child, we must have on file at the school office a certified copy of the court order of Final Judgment.

ABSENCE

In case of absence the parent should write a dated note to the teacher explaining the reason for the absence. There are no excused absences except for student illness or death in the immediate family. If a student finds that an unexcused absence will be unavoidable, the parent should notify the school several days in advance for a permission slip to make up all work before the absence.

Class time missed during this approved unexcused absence will be made up in detention class. Other unexcused absences will result in zeros in all classes and all class time must be made up in detention. Excessive unexcused absences may result in dismissal from school. No refund on tuition is made because of absence. Three tardies in a nine week period will be marked as an unexcused absence for that class. A student who has been suspended from school for any reason will receive zeros for any classes missed and may not be permitted to make up exams missed.

HOMEWORK

Believing that homework is an integral part of the school program, each teacher is at liberty to give homework to aid the students to advance in their studies. Therefore, each student is required to
complete his homework assignments on time. Homework is given for several reasons: for drill, for practice, for remedial activity and for special projects.

We do request parents’ full cooperation in seeing that the assignments are completed. Repeated delinquent homework could result in a student’s expulsion.

REPORT CARD AND FAILURE SLIPS

Report cards will be sent home at the end of each nine-week period for all grades. It will be necessary to pay a $1.00 replacement fee for a lost report card. Failure slips will be sent, when necessary, to parents for a conference.

WITHDRAWALS

All withdrawals must go through the school office. Students attending one day of any period will owe the full period’s tuition.

LOST AND FOUND

Lost and Found articles are taken to the office. Articles may be redeemed for 10 cents. This is a policy we have established to teach the students responsibility for their personal possessions. Lost and Found articles not claimed will be given to a needy family. It is requested that parents put the child’s name on all personal items that could be lost so they can be easily identified.

PLAYGROUND

Playground supervisors will be on duty each day from 8:00 to 3:00. The school cannot be responsible for students before 8:00 or after 3:00.

DISCIPLINE

Believing that discipline is necessary for the welfare of the student as well as the entire school, each teacher is given the liberty of making and enforcing classroom regulations in the manner which she or he feels is in accordance with Christian principles and discipline (spanking) as set forth in Scripture.

God says, “Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.” (Proverbs 22:15).

Please feel free to consult with the office about any problem or question that concerns the welfare of the student. It is the desire of the Principal and the faculty to be of service to both parent and student, and each teacher welcomes a visit from the parent.

We do urge, however, that such visits be made by definite appointment with the teacher at a convenient after-school hour. Pastor Morton will be available for consultation, by appointment, when needed.

Truth Tabernacle Christian School expects full cooperation from both student and parents in the education of the students. If a student’s behavior or attitude is not in harmony with the spirit and standards of Truth Tabernacle Christian School, whether or not there is any definite breach of conduct, he may be requested to transfer.

STUDENT USE OF TELEPHONE

A pay phone is available for students to use before and after school. Students are not to use the pay phone during the school day without permission from the office.

ACADEMIC PROGRAM

Students will develop the skills of communication for daily living and be taught and trained to become a Christian according to God’s Holy Word — the Bible, using the King James Version only. All subjects will be taught from a Christian perspective.

6. Math 15. Drama
7. Physical Sciences 16. Bible Studies
8. Social Sciences 17. Character Training
9. History 18. Patriotism

Character training is one of the supreme goals of Christian education. God says, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6).

The most important area of the curriculum for character development is, of course, actual study of the Bible itself. It is a privilege and responsibility for the students to read the scriptures so that God may speak to their hearts and minds.

Traditional teaching methods, Biblical discipline, excellence of content, all work together in the Christian school to produce students with outstanding character.

The final aim of Christian education is the production of individuals who will habitually choose to do right because it is right to do so. God does the work, but it is the responsibility of the parents and teachers to lay the foundation, and it is the responsibility of the individual to do right.

STUDENTS’ AUTOMOBILE POLICIES
IT IS A PRIVILEGE TO BE ABLE TO BRING A CAR TO SCHOOL.

1. All student-driven cars are to be registered in the school office.
2. Each driver should be an example of courteous driving habits.
3. Cars are to remain parked until students leave for the day. Parking areas will be assigned when the car is registered.
4. Cars are not to be occupied during school hours, nor are students to sit in parked cars while waiting for school to begin.

THE TEACHER

The teacher is a guiding example, by teaching and living a spiritual relationship in the Lord Jesus Christ, a life of righteous works, separated from the world, witnessing of His saving power through the ministry of the Holy Ghost, as recorded in Acts 2:38.

The teacher will be a qualified person with a college degree and Standard Teaching Credential or equivalent. They will be skilled in the art of teaching, creative, innovative in curriculum formulation, skilled in counseling and guidance reflecting Christian morals and values. Verification of good physical and mental health will be required of each teacher.

EXTENDED CLASS

Extended class is offered for working parents who have children attending Truth Tabernacle Christian School. Early morning and late afternoon extended class provides structured and non-structured activities. Time and fee schedules will be available by April 30 of each year.

Parents interested in the Extended Class must fill out an information card. No child will be assigned to an early morning group or afternoon group until this card has been filled out completely.

SCHOOL SITE

The school site of the Truth Tabernacle Christian School is located at 441 1 N. First Street (between Ashlan and Gettysburg) in Fresno, California. It has modern facilities and attractive rooms for all grades.

Our school calendar and schedule is similar to those of the local public schools. The Truth Tabernacle Christian School is listed with the State Department of Education.

Students and parents are encouraged to regularly attend and belong to a Bible-believing church. Truth Tabernacle Church invites those with no regular church home to its services. Because we care. . .

PATRIOTISM

“Patriotism is an inner feeling that is difficult to define; for each of us it has a different meaning and each of us meets it with a different emotional reaction – a feeling of pride, gaiety, a lump in
the throat and a tear in the eye, a swelling of the chest and a quickened breath, a fierce desire to battle for that which we believe, and even the dedication of one’s life to a cause. Where and when these feelings begin, we do not know, but we feel that the school should play an important part in developing patriotism in all its aspects. The small child is just beginning to have feelings of loyalty and pride, and these will grow best in an atmosphere of love and security, in aroused interests and broadened fields of knowledge, in chances to work with others, and through good examples in everyday living.” (Excerpt from Planned Patriotism.)

BIBLE

Bible study is recognized here as of fundamental importance and is a required subject. It augments the work in English, history, and geography, and without it a student can hardly be considered educated in the true sense. The Bible gives the best light for this life and the only hope for the life to come. There is no other book that can so enrich the minds and hearts of men as “The Book of Books.”

A knowledge of the Bible is one of the greatest educational assets any man can have in addition to the moral and spiritual values resulting from the study. Character development is the most important work of a school. No other course offered in the school affords so many great opportunities for laying the foundation for a good and sound character.

Enroll today – without delay.

Christian education does not cost – it pays.
