The Power Of Preserving Praise!

BY “HAPPY” HARRINGTON

Persevering praise and a firm unwavering faith in God is the way to victory along every line, health, power, spirituality, conversion, finance, etc. Clod commands us to “offer up the sacrifice of praise to Clod continually” and to “pray without ceasing.” The devil finds work for Idle hands to do–and gossip for Idle tongues to talk about. “Every Idle word that men shall speak they shall give account there–of in the day of judgment,” for “by thy words thou shalt be Justified and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” A talkative person is never spiritual. “Let thy words be few.” David said, “I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be In my mouth.” He had learned the secret of victory over his tongue–keep it busy praying and praising God. Three armies came up against Clod’s people, Israel. 2 Chron. 20. They said, “Lord, we have no power against this great host but our eyes are upon Thee.” The Lord replied, “Go ye out against them. Ye will not
need to fight, for the battle is not yours but the Lord’s.” So they went out against them and, when they praised the Lord, He caused the three armies to fight and kill each other and Israel had only to come and take the spoil.

“With God nothing shall be impossible.”

Paul and Silas had been scourged and thrown in prison for preaching the gospel but at midnight they “praised and sang praises unto God and suddenly there was a great earthquake” and they were all set tree. Acts 16.

“Call upon me in the time of trouble. I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.”

The early disciples “were continually In the Temple praising and blessing God” when they were all “filled with the Holy Spirit,” one of the greatest blessings this side of heaven. A mob of hoodlums was about to burn down an evangelist’s tent. She asked the Lord west she should do. He said, “Just praise Me.” As she did so she had a vision of bat-like demons around the tent. As she praised, they receded and beautiful angels came in their place and the mob disappeared. “We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers — the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience.” (Satan and his host of demons) Ephesians 6.

A blind man was prayed for and told to praise God for healing him. After 45 days of praising, he was completely healed. Whosoever shall say–and not doubt, but believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass he shall have whatsoever he saith ” Mark 11.23.

Another man, suffering terribly from ulcers of the stomach, was prayed for and told to pray no more but praise God for 0a healing. (“When ye pray believe that your requests have been granted and ye shall have it”) He was completely healed after two weeks of praise. “Whoso offereth praise glorifieth Me and maketh a way whereby I may work.”

Another person who had prayer for his eyes and they got better continually as Jesus worked on them but “He would work on them only when I praised film for healing me.”

“Bless the Lord oh, my soul, and forget not all His benefits. Who forgiveth all shine Iniqulties, who healeth all thy diseases.”

A missionary in China got the smallpox. The Lord told her to “till up the basket of praise” so she praised the Lord continually till she felt it was enough, went to bed, and woke up in the morning completely healed. Hear the cry Of the Spirit in Pa. 107: “Oh, that men would praise the Lord for His goodness and for His wonderful works to the children of men.”

When Solomon dedicated the Temple “the trumpeters and singers were as one–praising and thanking the Lord–then the house was filled with a cloud–for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.” 2 Chron. 5.

There Is nothing line persevering praise to bring the glory Of God down.

“Thou Who inhabiteth the Praise of. Israel”– YOU can have the glory of God in your soul. YOU can get answers to prayer. YOU can live a victorious Christian life. Will you pay the price to get God’s best? Ask Him to give you

The oil of Joy for mourning, the garment Of praise for the spirit Of heaviness” as He promised in Isaiah 61.

In Abraham, also, the power of unwavering faith and praise was demonstrated. He was 99 years old and had no children because Sarah wee barren but God appeared unto him and promised him a eon and God’s Word says that “He staggered not at the promise of Clod through unbelief, but was strong in faith giving glory to God” and Isaac was born.

One dear old saint said, “It I lose the praise It is hard to get the victory. The devil fears praise more than anything else.” A Chinese woman had spent hundreds of dollars trying to be healed of leprosy but wee given up by doctors so came to be preyed for. The missionary said, offered a short short and then began to praise the Lord for the answer. Three days later she came back completely healed.” Worship means to love and adore. Do you love Christ Who suffered and died for you? It so you will praise Him.

The Old Testament priesthood had to offer up carnal sacrifices but we, the Spiritual Priesthood of the New Testament, are required to offer up Spiritual sacrifices. “But ye are a — royal priesthood–that we should show forth the praises of Him who hath called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. Let us therefore–offer up the sacrifice of praise to God continually.”

“This people have I formed for Myself They shall show forth My praise.” “Therefore thy gates shall be opened continually– but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation and thy gates Praise.”

I try to keep the gates of my mouth full of praise continually and It surely pays. I have perfect health, get wonderful answers to prayer, and have perfect peace, Joy and victory in His service.

It pays to obey God! “Praise ye the Lord.”

Jesus said, “It I go I will send you another Comforter — Tarry ye in Jerusalem until ye be endued with power from on high — ye shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.’ He helps you to pray, Rom. 8:28; to worship God. Phil. 3:3; to understand the Word, John 16:13; to glorify Jesus, John 16:14; to witness boldly, Acts 4:31; to do mighty works of God. Mark 16; Acts 5.

PRAISE IS FAITH AT WORK
BY WESLEY DUEWEL

Praise lifts your eyes from the battle to the victory, for Christ is already Victor, and you have the Victor in your heart that you might have His victory in your life.

Have you ever noticed the way God multiplies your faith when you begin praising Him? There are times when it is more important to praise God than to pray to Him a prayer of intercession. Praise lifts your eyes from your circumstances to your almighty Father who is Ruler over all. Not one circumstance in |Your life can come without His permission, and that means that He has a way of causing it to work together with other things for His glory and your good.

Praise lifts your eyes from the battle to the victory. For Christ is already Victor, and though we do not yet see all things under His feet, they are there in a divine reality (Heb. 2:8; Eph. 1:22).
When you need faith there are two steps to take; go to God’s Word, and begin praising Him. These two go together as naturally as hydrogen and oxygen together make water. Stop worrying, fearing; try praising. Do you need faith? Praise the Lord!

PRAISE IS WORSHIP

If you want a new fountain of joy to spring up in your soul, start praising God.

God’s Word tells us that He places a song in our hearts. If we are not singing Christians we are disappointing God. God wants His people to begin His worship, to approach Him with praise, “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise” (Psa. 100:4). All the graces of the Holy Spirit grow much better in a happy heart.

In each crisis when God meets the soul in a new way, He brings unspeakable joy, new peace, a touch of His glory, and praise is as inevitable as for water to flow from a fountain. Whenever the clouds of darkness begin to hide God’s loving face, praise is the quickest way through to His glorious light again. Is your spiritual life lacking in joy? Be sure that there is no hidden sin, and then just start praising God. PRAISE THE LORD!

Have you ever realized that God’s answers to your prayers are at times delayed by your lack of praise to God? Have you seen God remove insurmountable difficulties and obstructions in answer to praise? Did you know that you can often rout Satan faster by praise than in any way? Have you experienced the effectiveness of praise and fasting? Did you know that bodies have been healed, demons have been cast out, and peace restored to troubled hearts by simply praising the Lord?

Have you ever deliberately gone into an impossible situation with the weapon of praise to God, and watched God perform the miracle? Oh hungry-hearted, struggling child of God, oh saint of God battling the forces of darkness, oh interceding prayer-warrior, this may be God’s message to you! Look up just now and begin to praise God. PRAISE THE LORD!

Perhaps it is seldom that God would have us do nothing but ask and intercede; it may also be true that God would seldom have us spend a protracted time of nothing but praise to God.

There is scarcely a spiritual conflict into which we enter without some measure of prayer; but how often do we, like Judah under Jehoshapat (2 Chron. 20:20-21) march into battle doing nothing but believing and praising? Oh, my Christian brothers and sisters, let us begin to praise God more. Praise changes things, and praise will transform you!

There is, at times, a deep sacrifice in praise. There are times when we must praise God though tears be in our eyes. There are times when al I we can say is, ”The Lord gave, the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.” There is no sweeter music under heaven, there is no more fragrant perfume than that which arises from a life of suffering which is nevertheless filled with praise.

No doubt you today are facing situations not of your own choosing. Can you look up just now out of your Gethsemane and still say, PRAISE THE LORD!

PRAISE IS THE LANGUAGE OF HEAVEN

Praise will sweeten and hallow all that it touches. Praise will kindle a new faith. Praise will fan the sparks of your smouldering love into a flaming love for God. Praise will start the joybells ringing in your soul; you will soon have all heaven joining in on the chorus and you will have a little touch of heaven in your heart. Praise will pierce through the darkness, will dynamite away longstanding obstructions, and will strike terror in the heart of Satan. –

We have praised God a little and occasionally; let us praise Him more and more. We have praised God in the past; come let us praise Him just now! Look up to heaven just now and praise your mighty Redeemer. Praise Him for His love and faithfulness; praise Him for His power and goodness. He is worthy of all praise; let us praise Him now! PRAISE THE LORD!

He is worthy to be praised;
He is worthy to be praised;
He’s the Lord of Glory,
The Ancient of Days:
He is worthy to be praised.
