The Precious Blood Of Christ

Outline Bible Study

1. Peter, 1:19 The blood of Christ shed at Calvary is precious to God and also to the believers.

The word precious means it is held dear, honorable, had in reputation.

1) Purchasing Blood.

Acts, 20:28. “the church of God, which he has purchased with his own blood” Christ’s sacrificed on Calvary paid the price for our redemption. By his death he acquired, bought this great salvation. What
was demanded by God, was met by Him, in Christ’s death.

2) Pardoning Blood.

Eph. 1:7, “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins ..” see Col. 1:14. That we are all guilty before God is true. We all have broken His laws. The shed blood of Christ has forgiven us and we are now freed ‘Without the shedding of Blood there is no remission of sins In order to make this remission of our sins effective we have to obey Acts; 2:28, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remissions of sins ” I John, 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins ”

3) Purifying Blood.

1, John, 1:7. “The blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanseth us from all sin ” Hebrews, 9:14, “the blood of Christ, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God” Hebrews, 13:12 ‘Wherefore Jesus also that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate” Not only the acts of sin be forgiven but also the condition of the heart can be creased from sin.

The redemptive work of Christ not only pardons the sinner, but also has the power to purge the heart from the pollution of sin.

4) Providing Blood.

Hebrews 10:19, “Having therefore brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus” The shed blood provides the means by which we can approach the eternal throne of God. It opens the way for us to worship, praise and present our prayers to God. The precious blood is like having the red carpet laid for us into the immediate presence of the Lord.

5) Protecting Blood.

Exodus, 12:13. “and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not destroy you ” On the eve of the deliverance of the Israelites from Egypt, they had to kill a lamb and put the blood over
the lintel and doorposts. This protected them from them God’s judgement. The blood of Christ also protects us each day as we cover ourselves with it. Rev. 7:14, “these are they which came out of great
tribulation, having washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the lamb. . .”

6) Peace Giving Blood.

Col. 1:20. “and, having made peace, through the blood of his cross ” verse 21 says “we were alienated and enemies .. but now reconciled ..” Peace has been declared, the enemity and the war with Christ has now
ceased and we are at peace with Him. Rom, 5:1 says Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Eph. 2:14 says “for He is our peace, who hath broken down the
wall of partition between us” His peace has conquered our hearts. “O. the peace my Saviour gives”

7) Prevailing Blood.

Rev. 12:11. “and they overcame him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb ..” If there is one thing that Satan fears and is his downfall, it is the blood of Christ. He is the accuser of the saints, but whilst we
plead the blood of Christ we are assured of victory and he is a defeated foe. The blood of Christ is an effective weapon in our battle against the forces of evil.

“And the blood shall never lose it’s power, no never, Jesus’ blood avails for sin forever, and shall never lose it’s power”

“Thank God for the Blood”
