The Revelation Of God For All Man’s Needs

INTRODUCTION: The revelation of God for all man’s needs is found in the meaning of the various Hebrew names of the Supreme Being. “Our help is in the name of the LORD who made heaven and earth ” (Psalms 124:8).

1. ELOHIM: (Genesis 1:1) Elohim is formed from two words “El” meaning strength and “Alah” which implies faithfulness. Therefore God thus advertises strength and faithfulness for all who need and desire it. This name and its abbreviations are found 2808 times in the Bible. It dates back to B.C. 4004 or for 6000) years (1996).

2. JEHOVAH-JIREH: (Genesis 22:8 14) Means “the Lord will provide.” Used twice in the Bible. Dates back to B.C. 1872 or for 3868 years (1996).

3. JEHOVAH: (Exodus 6:3; 3:13, 14) This name refers us to God as a SELF -EXISITING Being–One who possesses and produces life. Jehovah is the author of all life. This name is found in the Bible more the an any other name of God or 6823 times. Dates back to B.C. 1491 or 3487 years (1996).

4. JEHOVAH–RAPHA: (Exodus 15:26) Means “I am the Lord that healeth thee.” Compare Psalms 103:2, 3. Used only once. Dates back to B.C. 1491 or 3487 years (1996).

5. JEHOVAH-NISSI: (Exodus 17:15) Means “the Lord our banner” or PRO TECTION. This would include protection from contagious diseases (Psalms 91:1-10) enemies storms accidents etc. Used once. Dates back to B.C. 1491 or 3487 years (1996).

6. JEHOVAH-SHALOM: (Judges 6:24) Means “the Lord our peace.” Used once. Dates back to B.C. 1249 or 3245 years (1996).

  1. JEHOVAH-SABAOTH: (First Samuel 1:11) Means “the Lord our Lord of hosts” or the Mighty Warrior who fights for His people. Found in the Old Testament 263 times and twice in the N.T. Dates back to B.C. 1171 or 3167 years (1996).

    JEHOVAH-ROHI: (Psalms 23:1) Means “the Lord our Shepherd” or Guide and leader. See Proverbs 3:5 6; Jeremiah 10:23 and St. John 10:27. Dates back to B.C. 1025 or for 3021 years (1996).

    JEHOVAH-TSIDKENU: (Jeremiah 23:6) Means “the Lord our righteousness.” Only found once. Dates back to B.C. 599 or for 2595 years (1996).

  2. JEHOVAH-SHAMMAH; (Ezekiel 48:35) Means “the Lord is present” or omnipresent. Only used once. Dates back to B.C. 574 or for 2570 years (1996).

    11. JEHOSHUA (JESUS): (Matthew 1:21,25) Means “Jehovah-Savior” or “Jehovah is salvation.” Compare Matthew 1:23; Second Corinthians 5:19 and Isaiah 45:20-22. Given B.C. 4 or 2000 years ago (1996). A New Testament name.

    12. EMMANUEL means God with us. Isaiah 7:14 Matthew 1:23
