Greetings! Let me begin by saying that I strongly believe that any church can grow. I also believe that if you develop a customized church growth program, and then continue to keep that plan working effectively, your church will at least double in average Sunday morning attendance within three to five years.
I have had tremendous success in utilizing the principles outlined in Total Church Growth, Volumes 1 and 2. The program focuses on two key areas: (1) effective church organization and management, and (2) effective evangelism ministries and new convert retention. I believe in the truth of II Corinthians 9:6: ‘He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully’ and Psalms 126: 6: ‘He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.’
How do you get started?
I am confident that this approach to church growth works. In the 25+ years that I have been working in the area of church growth I have seen it succeed in hundreds of churches. However, it does require work and effort. Church growth takes time. Save for a divine move of God – like on the Day of Pentecost or at Azusa Street – there is no ‘secret method’ that will bring quick results. It takes time to grow a tree or raise an acre of wheat. You can’t speed up the process. But if you will follow God’s program, the harvest will come. If we will ‘not be weary in well doing,’ then ‘in due season we shall reap, if we faint not’ (Gal. 6:9)
