The life of Joseph is one full of emotional highs and lows. His road to achieving God’s purpose involved many dark, painful moments. In many ways, Joseph is a type of Jesus, and his unfailing dedication to God and sacrificial level of forgiveness raised the bar for human character. There are multiple parallels: he wrought salvation for those who betrayed and rejected him, his road to exaltation came through suffering and humiliation, he was sold for a sum of silver, he was betrayed by those who were close to him, he showed forgiveness to those who attempted to kill him, and he was the one that all turned to for salvation.
